I've been thinking lately that one of the 'Foreign' / SOTW headed Joes would look really good in my collection so have been checking them out on the evil bay, but whenever I see one the import cost from the US doubles the price and takes it beyond my means! Can anyone advise approximately what I should expect to pay for one of these?
Well speak of the devil! On close inspection though, the head doesn't look quite right on the neck post, like it's maybe shrunk or has been put onto a different style of body?? I may still have a flutter...
...and got outbid! Back to the drawing board.

But the Jap has a different (unique) head again. I noticed the eBay listing says it is a Canadian Joe body, but I've just checked the five foreign head figures in my collection and they are all stamped Made in USA. Does anyone know if the foreign heads (not the Jap ones) came on Canadian Joe bodies?

If you just want a Foreign Joe head the Timelsss Collection Australian Jungle Fighter reproduction figure might be an option. It came out around 2000 here in the U..S. and should be cheaper than a vintage head.
That's it... I took the plunge and have paid the outrageous P&P to import one from a US ebay dealer with 100% reliability score. Hope he arrives in time for Xmas, convinced the family to club together to support dad's weird hobby! Now, do I have the right uniform already or will he have to wait until VAME day next June before he gets displayed? ;-)
Well he's arrived and I got stung for customs to the tune of another £17 on top! Makes him the single most expensive VAM item I've ever bought, and I shall think twice about buying anything else direct from the States. The silver lining is that apart from the usual stress cracks he's in great condition, although if I'd been patient I might have seen the one in the link above and got the Stormtrooper outfit complete with Iron Cross thrown in... :-( Packed off to Santa now though, photos after the 25th!
Hope this works! I tried him with an MP40, but then thought he looked better with a KAR98. I don't have a Dragon / DiD version so put him with an AM one. I tried him with and without the helmet but thought the "ohne Stahlhelm" looked good, very Arno Breker, totalitarian heroic pose like a propaganda poster. I've put him with my other Germans, he's showing just how faded my other Stormtrooper's outfit is! This, and the guy wearing it, is a survivor from my childhood so must still have pride of place.
