I'm pleased to announce VAME Meet 5 - the 5th annual meet for Vintage Action Man Enthusiasts and celebrating 5 years of what is now the longest-running dedicated event for Palitoy Action Man collectors in the calendar!
It's on Saturday 6th June 2015 in the village of Quorn near Loughborough, just a few minutes from the M1 and easily accessible by train to Loughborough or even by plane to East Midlands airport.
The arrangements will be similar to the last three meets and is in the same venue, which is spacious and very convenient. As always, it is open to all vintage Action Man fans who want to buy/sell/swap vintage Action Man figures and accessories, show off their treasures and customs, or just have a chat. Unlike the commercial shows and toy fairs, this is a not-for-profit event run by VAM collectors for collectors and, judging from the past few years, there will be a huge range on sale from rare items and complete figures to bargain basement rummage boxes.
Entry is free, parking is free and it's even free to take a table (although a donation to offset the hire of the hall would be welcome). Tea/coffee/biscuits/snacks should be available if I can find some willing volunteers to help out again this year!
Bob Brechin (Chief Designer at Palitoy) hopes to join us again and we plan to have some rarely-seen Action Man pieces and fascinating snippets of Action Man history on display.
The date, time and location are chosen to make it easy to combine with a visit to the excellent wartime weekend held every year at the Great Central steam railway nearby. Highly recommended if you're interested in WW2 history, re-enactments, vehicles, aircraft or (obviously!) steam trains.
Further details will follow nearer the time, but for now, make a note of the date in your diaries and calendars and don’t miss out on the best event for Vintage Action Man Enthusiasts in 2015!
Time and Place
Saturday 6th June 2015, 11.00am - 3.00pm (sellers set up from 10.30am) in Quorn village hall:
64 Leicester Road
Quorn
Leicestershire
LE12 8BB
If you would like to have a table to sell or display, please send me a PM.
