Very nice Colin. Interesting that the US GB has different pockets.
No idea when the GB was phased out in the UK but it was a short run. GI Joe lost his military theme in 1969. maybe something happened in America and wanted no military connection ? . possible they asked Palitoy not to continue the Green Beret ?.
the Vietnam war daz!!!!! the sales of gi joe were dropping cause parents didn't want their kids being brainwashed into joining the army and going there so wouldn't buy army or "war" toys that's why they went into the explorer/adventurer series and set up and then palitoy went into the british army uniforms so id say 70/71, didn't somebody say it wasn't released in the follow up sotw series?
The GB was not in the original launch line-up in 1966, but it is in the 1967 Palitoyland trade catalogue and in the 1968 price lists I have, The 1969 trade export catalogue only has the British, French and German SOTC uniforms, so the production run was probably only about 2 years, from 1967 to late 1968 or early 1969.
I don't have any GB pics to share as mine is only about half dressed so far ...
Thanks for the medal re-post, don't think I have looked at that before. ... I have a silver star which I always assumed was repro as I picked it up in a huge box of stuff at a very good price. Looking at the comparisons it does look more like the original than repro, so I just might be nearly to a completed GB!
