Made this a few years back for an exhibition about self portraits. Its scaled to my height - 5' 10" and those with eagle eyes will spot that the trooper is mirror image. Its an etching, etched with nitric on to steel then inked and pressed through an etching press which is basically a 1 ton mangle. The paper was then dry mounted onto aluminium for display. Made a Tommy too but that is out on loan with a friend.
Usually hangs in the hall but pride of place in the bedroom at the moment!
i think id rather the childhood vam ten the 40th as its got soo much along with him .. the jerry with the orange eps is the one that should have you German field police dog chain on and the wee arm badge as orange is the field police colour . as red is artillery
Here's the uniform with the orange epaulettes [is my childhood uniform] against the standard red one.
pleased to be able to add something to this - colours are a little washed out from the flash but here's the four sides a of SOTC Stormtrooper. I'd appreciate any views on what version it is - I assumed the early one
Some of my Storm troopers. L to R last issue broken KAR an needs correct helmet. 2nd I think (but not sure) is a 75ish staff officer jacket with Kommandant trousers the back pac matches so I gave him an helmet and shoesmacker. 3rd is red Epaulette sotc and 4th has orange Epaulettes with an quality actionmat repro KAR.
