I bought a few boxed Hasbro GI Joe, DC Comics Sgt Rock figures this week, which I found whilst browsing in a local antique shop.
They were a bit of an impulse purchase, (the wife wasn’t happy at all, I got the what do you want this things for speech) to be honest at the point of buying them I wasn’t sure why I bought them either, I think I was attracted by the box art initially, bit like being a kid again looking at comics on a Saturday morning, lol.
I’m not really sure exactly what the figures are, but they were reasonably priced and looked a bit unusual to me. I’ve never seen them before.
The Sgt Rock figure itself came with a comic, which I presume is the DC comics tie in, The boxes also show a range of other figures so presumably they were available too.
I’m assuming that the figures and outfits are modern reproductions or commemorative versions, as the Sgt Rock figure is numbered and signed, but my intention is to just use them for kit bashing in future, so this isn’t really relevant to me, unless you can tell me different and that I should keep them in the box.
I’m thinking of using the figures / Outfits with the GI Joe Jeep which I have, and doing a sort of secret army french resistance meets GI’s sort of thing, (it’ll probably end up more like the 80’s TV sitcom allo allo) but I need to find space first, lol.
I’ve included a few quick pictures of the figures below for information. I’ve left them in their boxes for now.
If anyone knows anything about these figures It’d be great to know more about them.
