It's an old photo, to be honest. They were all pretty good, but I kept the best one (without paint wear on the drill tip) and sold the other two at the VAME Meets. The elastic straps aren't original. I added them to hold them on. As far as I can tell, the holes in the helmets were originally only used to stitch them to the backing card.
As a kid I was just perplexed at why a toy manufacturer would think that a pneumatic drill was a cool toy for young child !! It's a bazaar concept . Think about it ! ... your a 12 year old standing next to a gang of Irish navvy in string vests and the drill is hammering out 50,000 decibels the noise is crushing your skull and as you look at the poor Paddy being shaken to death , you say " I'll love to have a pneumatic drill , I'll go strait to the toy shop and buy one" Oh ! Yes .. I want one of those!
