I had no idea that there was so much out there for the Injun- impressive stuff.
Like Scott I've never liked the wig but might have to get Tom round for some plaiting having now seen his photos. Spent this morning gluing my geyper man bow back together and adding a piece of elastic, and also adding a wooden skewer to my spear head and a bit of a grip. Quite happy with the end result and my Injun has now moved to the front of the cabinet rather than hiding at the back.
Injun ! Looks good .......super crop of hair ! Not at all frizzy , as most have become with age!
I think your bow is correct VAME, it looks the same as mine!
sorry Tom - meant to write Geyper Man! Getting my Spanish toys muddled
SOME TIMES YOU CAN NOT SEE THE WOOD FOR THE TREES
Of course it's Geyperman ! I never gave it a thought that it wasn't AM.. Mind you thats what makes the Indian/cowboy/Wild West so interesting to mix and match with ACTION MAN/ACTION TEAM/GROUP ACTION JOE/GEYPER MAN.
Just had a proper Indian stray off the reservation and turn up at my door in a canoe ! (Typical you wait ages for a canoe then two turn up) The Purchased from France so he must be Œil de Lynx if he came from Germany he would be Adler Auge . (Lynx Eye or Eagle Eye)
Note brown eyes as opposed to o'l blue eyes on the left who is the legendary Bob the Cameraman (Chasseur d'images) Two colours!!! Its a steep learning curve when you go into Indian territory !
PS. Two days later! Before and after 'bad hair day'
Wow fantastic collection .. I don't have any of the MEDICINE MAN yet but working on it .. Don't suppose you have the ACTION TEAM or GROUP ACTION JOE wig wam it's a bit different from the GEYPERMAN one( another one for the wants list)..glad to see a little bit of MARX's with the chest beads I've got a set as well they really look neat
No, I didn't realise there were differences between the GM, AT and GAJ wigwams.
Since taking that photo, I've managed to pick up the peace pipe, camp fire and shoulder bag to complete the Indian chief set.
You've also solved the mystery of where the chest beads came from. Thanks! I got them in a job lot of AM stuff and knew they weren't from any of the Hasbro licencees, but thought they worked well on the figure.
The medicine man's necklace was also in that job lot. I thought at first it was from the GAJ Rahan figure, but it's different to that as his necklace which has all white teeth.
EDIT: Thanks to your Marx clue, I found out that both the chest plate and the necklace come from two Marx 'Lone Ranger' accessory sets.

The AT and GAJ are the same as each other but different from GM Action Team above ...Group Action Joe below ..note difference in the way they lace up rather than being pegged and the entrance is round or can be made to open wide!
interestingly the 1970 ACTION TEAM catalog shows what I assume is a pre- preproduction 'mock up' of the wig wam and the chief headdress
