My mountaineer figure was one of the few that survived from my childhood, I'll dig out a picture and post. I think they were great because you could almost endlessly accessorise them.

I have dug my mountain chaps out today just to check on the variants,got to love those variants! This is what I have found to add to Daz 's .

By the way Daz I only have two versions of the ice pick,that third one looks interesting.

Lots of different sock colours,from fairly dark brown to a lighter caramel colour also the material differs from a nice thick weave to a very thin stretchy nylon, I think the earlier ones have a nice fold down on the top the later ones are just elasticated









The breeches also have a few colour and material variants,I have never quite understood the order with these especially the corded versions of which there are multiple colours

 That's not a very well drawn Union Flag on that ice pick.  On the plus side, at least no one in the factory could have accidentally put it on upside  down

A few years ago I went to Skye in February with my partner. Mainly to get some moody landscape photographs for Moira's art classes, but I took a mountaineer figure with me too.

Every opportunity to get the troops out and about is to be taken advantage of!

As it was, the weather was Mediterranean, with folk heading out on island cruises dressed in Tshirts and shorts. We went to Glen Sligachan one day, Action Man in tow, and took some shots anyway.

While Moira sunbathed by the path, I took a series of photos, this being one. Halfway through the session, a guy walked out of the glen. He had been camping by a loch and hadn't seen another soul for days. The sight that greeted him may have caused him to question his sanity! As he walked on, his only response was, "I'm not even going to ask." Moira, bless her comforted him with the words, "It's incurable."

you could try warming them up in hot water or hairdryer also make sure your not trying to shove them on the early big feet.
